PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper sheet handling device with an emergency display function capable of quickly informing emergent condition without cutting a power source of an emergency display unit when an emergency stop switch is pushed down and a power source of a part for driving the device is cut. SOLUTION: When the emergency stop switch 81 is pushed down, an output signal detected by a switch control circuit 43 is read by a feeding/sorting control unit 35, and transmitted to a control unit 30. The control unit 30 transmits information about the emergency stop switch 82 to a panel control unit 36, and flashes position of the pushed-down emergency stop switch in an operation panel 20. A flicker relay 37b of a relay panel part 37 is driven to flash a tower lamp 38 for display. Furthermore, when one second passes after the emergency stop switch 81 is pushed down, output of the power source 39a to be supplied to a device body 101 is cut by a timer relay 37a.
