PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a binding implement which can make the edges of arranged sheets look presentable and can stably hold sheets by securing an enough holding allowance between a sheet holding part and the edges of the sheets, even in case the volume of the sheets to be bound is heavy, in the binding implement of a structure capable of holding the sheets between a base and the sheet holding part. SOLUTION: This binding implement comprises the following components: a base main body 21 as a substrate, the base 2 with a sheet pressure equalizing part having a contact surface 213a which can come into contact with the sheets, the sheet holding part 3 arranged in a position enabling the sheets to be held between the base main body 21 and the part 3, and a link member 4 with an arm part 41 which supports the sheet holding part 3 in the way that the latter can come into contact with and separate from the base 2 and has the edge, on the sheet arrangement side, of the arm part 41, disposed flush with the contact surface 213a.
