A roof gutter (2) inspection unit has an adjustable length hand held rod (8) made of light aluminium or plastic sections (10, 12) with video camera (17) optical imager (16) at one end and a wireless image transmission unit sending pictures to a display (18) at the other. Independent claims are included for the provision of a cleaning tool on the rod close to the imager.
