The method involves fastening panels to a supporting structure by screwing, nailing, stapling or gluing or are directly glued to the base by spot gluing or face gluing. The panels are placed against one another bluntly and a thin paper strip with a width of 3 to 8 cm is glued over the joint of adjacent panels by an adhesive. The adhesive is elastically flexible and, by adding fillers, is provided in the form of knifing filler or lute with a low measure of contraction. The strength of the paper strip and of the adhesive bond of the adhesive are provided so that, when the joint widens, the stresses occurring in the paper strip cause the adhesive bond to either shears off in the vicinity of the joint or the elastic adhesive bond effects a shearing-sliding as the paper strip tears. A humidity rejecting layer is laid on the panel. The thickness of the tape is 0.05 mm.
