<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical pickup apparatus in which adjustment of an optical axis can be performed, moreover, adjustment of the optical axis can be performed accurately even when an arrangement gap between laser elements is varied while suppressing cost increase of the optical pickup apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: A semiconductor laser 101 in which at least three laser elements of which the out-going wavelengths are different are housed in the same case, first and second diffraction gratings 102, 111 which make optical axes of respective laser beam emitted from the laser elements coincident approximately by diffraction operation are arranged. The first diffraction grating 102 makes the optical axis of a laser beam for CD (wavelength:780 nm) coincident with the reference optical axis by diffraction operation. Also, the second diffraction grating 111 makes the optical axis of a laser beam for DVD (wavelength:6550 nm) with the reference optical axis by diffraction operation. Even if an interval between light emitting points between laser elements is varied, adjustment of the optical axis of the laser beam can be performed by adjusting finely a corresponding diffraction grating in the reference optical axis direction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
