<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus and an image forming unit which are capable of facilitating component replacement work. <P>SOLUTION: A laser printer 1 is provided with the image forming unit 20 which can be drawn out of a main body casing 2 and can be attached to and detached from the main body casing 2. Since a direction of detaching a developing cartridge 22 from a frame 21 is inclined toward the front side being a drawing-out direction, the developing cartridge 22 can be easily replaced. When the image forming unit 20 detached from the main body casing 2 is lifted in a vertical direction with a grip part 58 in a hand, the developing cartridge 22 hardly slips off the frame 21 because the detaching direction of the developing cartridge 22 is inclined toward the drawing-out direction (upward). An optical path of laser light L from a scanner part 18 is made approximately parallel with the detaching direction of the developing cartridge 22 to maximize the capacity of the developing cartridge 22. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
