<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reformer for hydrogen production using a ferrite-based stainless steel hardly suffering from corrosion and thinning down due to high temperature oxidation at a high temperature of ≥400°C or further in an atmosphere added with steam. <P>SOLUTION: This reformer for hydrogen production is constituted by using ferrite-based stainless steel containing 1.0-8.0 mass% Al in reformer members including a part where the use temperature becomes ≥400°C, even further ≥550°C, or where it comes into contact with a gas containing steam. During operation, Al in the steel forms a robust alumina coating film, thereby oxidation at a high temperature is remarkably inhibited. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
