PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner and a filter capable of reducing refrigerant flow sound in an indoor unit. SOLUTION: This air conditioner 1 comprises an indoor expansion valve disposed at the indoor unit, and a strainer 6 disposed upstream of the indoor expansion valve to subdivide bubbles in a refrigerant. The strainer 6 comprises a casing 61 through which the refrigerant passes, and the filter 62 installed in the casing 61. The strainer 6 is connected to the inlet side of the indoor expansion valve on the outlet side of the casing 61, and the filter 62 is disposed in the casing 61 so as to be located close to an outlet side opening 613 of the casing 62. The refrigerant in the casing 61 thereby flows into the outlet side opening 613 of the casing 61 immediately after passing through the filter 62. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
