PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a variable diameter pulley having an oil chamber for generating oil pressure for energizing a sheave to suppress vibration and noise effectively. SOLUTION: A flexible member 37 composed of an annular plate is sticked to a back face 25a being a face on the opposite side to a transmission face 25 of a second sheave 22 of the variable diameter pulley 4. The flexible member 37 is constituted by, for example, foaming resin such as fluororesin foaming body and foaming rubber such as silicone rubber foaming body as a porous body of independent air bubble and includes many cavities 38. Vibration occurs in the second sheave 22 when a first pin 51 of a chain 5 is meshed between the transmission faces 24 and 25 of the sheaves 21, 2, and pressure in the oil chamber 23 causes pulsation in accordance with the vibration.
