METHOD FOR PRODUCING PHENYLALKANES USING AT LEAST TWO PARALLEL ALKYLATION REACTORS

The invention concerns a method for producing phenylalkanes comprising at least two catalytic alkylation reactors arranged in parallel wherein are present n reaction zones each containing at least one solid acid catalyst, n being not less than 2. One of the reactors carries out alkylation of at least one aromatic compound with at least one olefin having 9 to 16 atoms. A fraction of olefins is introduced in the intake of each of the reaction zones of the reactor operating in alkylation mode. While one of the reactors is performing alkylation, the other reactor reactivates each partly deactivated catalyst it contains. The functions of each reactor are regularly interchanged so as to limit deactivation of the catalysts in each of the reactors. The phenylalkanes obtained by the inventive method are particularly suitable for making detergents.
