A phase difference measuring circuit capable of measuring any phase difference with high precision without requiring any pulse signals that have pulse widths sufficiently narrower than the pulse widths of subject two signals, in other words, that exhibit a very high rate that otherwise would be required in measuring the phase difference between the two signals with high precision. There are included a waveform control circuit (103) for providing one of two input signals (102) in each particular period; a comparison pulse generating circuit (104) for converting the phase difference between the other input signal (101) and the input signal (102) provided in each particular period to a phase difference pulse (1042) having a pulse width that is equal to that phase difference at each particular timing; a periodic signal generating circuit (105) for accumulating the phase difference pulses (1042) to generate a periodic signal (1051); and a measuring circuit (106) for measuring the period of the periodic signal (1051). In this way, even if the phase difference is small, no high rate pulse signals are required, and no circuits are required that exhibit any enhanced operational speed or performance. Accordingly, the circuit arrangement can be simplified.
|
