<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine exhaust emission control device which is a compact exhaust emission control device removing PM and NOx in exhaust gas discharged from an engine and is easily regenerated, and a method for using the same. <P>SOLUTION: One of a plurality of cylinders 1 for purification arranged in a case main body 7 on same circumference is stopped and exhaust gas is introduced in an inside thereof. The cylinder 1 for purification consists of a filter shape cylinder 1a and a NOx reduction catalyst cylinder 1b, and PM and NOx are removed here and exhaust gas is discharged from a discharge passage 11. The cylinder 1 for purification which is under a clogged condition due to capture of PM is regenerated by heating the cylinder 1 for purification under a stop condition by a heating means 2. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
