<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device which provides excellent display whichever light is used, external incident light or light from a light emitting means, and to provide electronic equipment with the display device. <P>SOLUTION: On the reverse side of a light scattering type liquid crystal display layer 25, a 1st polarizer 22, a 2nd polarizer 23, and a light emitting means 24 are arranged in this order to constitute the display device 2. The 1st polarizer 22 and 2nd polarizer 23 are both composed of reflection type polarizers, which are disposed having their axes of transmission orthogonally. In addition to light reflected by the 1st polarizer 22, light reflected by the 2nd polarizer 23 also contributes to the display, so the display is brighter. The 1st polarizer 22 and 2nd polarizer 23 are both composed of the reflection type polarizers, so light from the light emitting means 24 is transmitted through those polarizers 22 and 23 to reach a liquid crystal panel 21, so that excellent display is obtained even with the light from the light emitting means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
