<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a user to purchase a waste ink absorber unit in a proper period. <P>SOLUTION: The site for selling consumable articles of an ink jet recording device is provided to a predetermined URL, and when the user of the ink jet recording device performs access from a computer device to the site, and inputs information for purchasing an ink tank (S102), whether or not the exchange of a waste ink absorber unit is necessary within a period when the ink tank is used is decided based on information related with the use history of the ink jet recording device (S105, S106), and when the exchange of the waste ink absorber unit is necessary, the user is notified of a message for promoting the purchase of the ink tank and the waste ink absorber unit through the site (S107). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
