<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent degradation or deterioration of cultural properties by providing information for optimal storage and management based on data about the cultural properties' materials, dates of production, production techniques, restoration histories, exhibition periods, transportation periods and the like. <P>SOLUTION: A system for supporting the storage and management of cultural properties comprises terminal devices 1 using PCs or the like that users 100 at a plurality of museums or the like have, and a server 2 that a dedicated research body 200 supporting the storage and management of the cultural properties has, the terminal devices and the server being connected to each other via a network 60. The server 2 has a DB 16 for storing information about the material, date of production, production techniques, and restoration history of each cultural property, and outputs optimal storage and management information in response to inputs from the users about the exhibition period, transportation means, transportation period and the like of each cultural property.
