PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas cooking stove preventing wasteful combustion in a state without a cooking vessel, and at the same time, capable of carrying out cooking not using any cooking vessels such as toasting laver at desired heating power as needed without operating an exclusive switch for manual mode setting even in a state of detecting that no cooking vessel has been placed. SOLUTION: When an operation element 16 for heating power adjustment is operated until passage of a first predetermined time from detecting that no cooking vessel 40 has been placed by a cooking vessel detecting means 16, heating power of a burner 20 is controlled in response to an operation position of the operation element 16 for heating power adjustment even when it is detected after operation that no cooking vessel 40 has been placed by the cooking vessel detecting means 16.
