PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device with which a program of preference can be efficiently selected. SOLUTION: The device is provided with a display unit 11 and a control unit 15 for controlling the display of a video image on the display unit 11. The display unit 15 causes a video memory 17 to store the video image of a preceding selection channel selected immediately before performing a channel switching operation as a recorded video image, and performs first display control causing the display unit 11 to simultaneously display a present video image in the preceding selection channel and the recorded video image when a predetermined operation is performed.
