PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid jetting apparatus accurately counting a residual quantity of a waste liquid, a method for maintaining the liquid jetting apparatus, and a maintenance program for the liquid jetting apparatus. SOLUTION: An inkjet recording apparatus 1 is equipped with a cap 8 for sealing a nozzle opening of a recording head 10 jetting ink drops and holding ink discharged from the nozzle opening, a COT timer 25 for clocking a cap opening time during which the nozzle opening is opened without sealing by the cap 8, a waste ink storing part 12 for storing the ink held in the cap 8 as the waste ink, a residual quantity calculating part 29 for calculating the residual quantity of the ink obtained from reducing a quantity of evaporation during a cap opening time from discharging into the cap 8 based on the cap opening time clocked by the COT timer 25, and a storing quantity adding part 34 for counting a quantity of the waste ink stored in the waste ink storing part 12 based on the residual quantity of the ink calculated by the residual quantity calculating part 29.
