PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain backing paper for wallpaper, which has slight scuffing to become defects in polyvinyl chloride coating, excellent peeling properties in peeling wallpaper from a wall surface, a long open time, excellent workability in application and is not provided with a flame-retardant layer. SOLUTION: The backing paper comprises an acrylic resin having≥20°C and≤100°C glass transition temperature in paper, has a Stockigt sizing degree of≥20 seconds and≤120 seconds and≥20N/m and≤35N/m paper interlayer strength measured according to B method of JIS P 8139 (peel strength test method of combination board layer).
