PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hat in which shape in bent or developed state is retained and folding habit is not left when the hat is developed for wearing and hat is not broken even when folding or development is repeated. SOLUTION: Braid web 1 obtained by sewing a cloth material cut into a prescribed width in cylindrical belt-like shape and connecting these belt-like material in long length state is sewn together with upper and lower yarns placed on the front face and the back face while spirally winding the braid web 1 on a plane and a crown part K and a brim part are integrally sewn to the body to provide a braid hat P. A shape-retaining core material 2 for imparting a shape-retaining property is enclosed along spiral state in the interior of cylindrical band-like shape of the braid web 1. At this time, the shape-retaining core material 2 is internally sealed in either one of one side edge and other side edge of the blade web 1 sewn in a state superposed to each other.
