PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical equipment monitoring device which responds to an alarm sound only, ignoring mere forecast sounds or monitor sounds made by the medical equipment, and sends a signal to nurse call facilities so that medical workers can provide effective supports. SOLUTION: This medical equipment monitoring device distinguishes the alarm sound from other sounds by determining whether or not the sound made by the medical equipment has a specified frequency, or whether or not it lies in a range beyond the specified frequency, and whether or not it has a sound pressure level peculiar to the alarm sounds, and never sends the signal to the nurse call facilities unless it has detected the alarm sound.
