PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary reel type game machine and a method of displaying a game state, capable of enhancing the game properties by devising the shift of the display image between a high probability state and a low probability state. SOLUTION: A main control part 100 executes a lottery for changing the probability from the low probability to the high probability in a step 310, and shifts the game state to the high probability state when the result of the lottery is a hit. The main control part 100 determines whether the elected hand is a first lottery small hand (cherry) or not in a step 330, and executes a lottery for shifting the display from a night stage to a day stage if the hand is the first lottery small hand. When the result of the lottery is a hit, the main control part 100 displays a clock as well as outputs effective sound, and after rotating the hands of the clock at high speed, shifts the display image to the day sage to terminate the game.
