The collapsible toboggan has at least one cross member hinge-connected to side sections (3,4), and means of hinging through which the side sections are pivotable at least partially around an axis parallel to the direction of travel of the toboggan. At least one stop is provided for each side section to prevent a pivoting movement of the corresponding side section in the in-use configuration. A releasable connection is provided between at least one of the side sections and the seat section (8) so that the toboggan can be collapsed down into a transporting position.
