<p>The worm extruder (10) comprises an inlet opening (18) for watery suspensions, with the worm shaft (12) located within the extruder and having one-way worm coils (14) and having a small movement area (24) and encompassed by a sieve-cage (16) that permits the discharge of fluid and a compression exit (20) to enable the emptying of extruded material. The coils have peripheral upper surface irregularities (34) in its perimeter region which, brush-like, collect material parts from the inner side of the sieve-cage. The upper surface irregularities may be built in the recesses and/or projections of the coil face-side (32) and/or the coil flanks (30) of the coil. They may also be joined by a supplementary member (36) that may be made from sheet, ceramic or plastic.</p> |
