<p>Organic materials with free hydroxyl groups and other functional groups are treated with a biocidal compound pref. using a polyfunctional compound to bind the biocide chemically to the treated material. The prefd. biocide agents have formula (I) (where n = 2 or 3; R1, R2 and R3 = aliphatic or aromatic groups) such as 6-(3'-diphenylbromotinpropoxy)-2,4-dichlorotriazine. Protection may be given by either coumpling the biocide to the polyfunctional compound and reacting the product with the organic material or by reacting all three products together. The organic materials treated may be wood, textiles, leather etc and may be painted after treatment.</p> |
