The procedure involves fulfilling a certain condition pertaining to the size of a burst in the packets. A memory burst content is detected based on a delay in reception of the packet, and the content is controlled by fulfilling the condition of the size. The size of the burst is evaluated at the arrival of a packet and the size condition is expressed by a threshold value to which is compared the size of the evaluated burst. An Independent claim is also included for a device to receive digital data packets representing successive temporal segments of a signal to be reconstituted.
