<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aluminum titanate-based porous ceramic body exhibiting both of a low pressure drop and strength free from the problems for practicable use when it is used in a ceramic honeycomb filter. <P>SOLUTION: The aluminum titanate-based porous ceramic body is characterized in that the porosity is 51-75%, the average pore diameter is 10-40μm, the total volume of the pores having pore diameters of <5μm is≤15% of the total pore volume, the total volume of the pores having pore diameters of 5-100μm is≥70% of the total pore volume, and the total volume of the pores having pore diameters larger than 100μm is≤15% of the total pore volume. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
