<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an intake device capable of driving a plurality of intake characteristic variable means by a small number of actuators. <P>SOLUTION: This intake manifold 20 comprises a pipe length switching valve unit 40 and a variable communication pipe 50 for changing intake characteristics according to the operating state of an engine and an electric variable intake actuator 21 driving the valve unit and the variable communication pipe. The variable communication pipe 50 is directly driven by the variable intake actuator 21, and the pipe length switching valve unit 40 is connected to the variable communication pipe 50 through a lost motion mechanism for transmitting drive force. The pipe length switching valve unit 40 is stopped in an operating area where the operating amount of the variable communication pipe 50 is small and operated only when the operating amount of the variable communication pipe 50 exceeds a prescribed value. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
