PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a development device with which a stable amount of toner supplied to a developer carrier is ensured by keeping the amount of toner constant, while making smooth circulation of the toner inside the development device, and to provide an image forming apparatus having the development device. SOLUTION: The development device 21 includes a casing 5, a cover 6, a first stirring screw 7, a second stirring screw 8, a developing roller 11, a regulating blade 12, and a T sensor 13 for detecting the amount of toner. The T sensor 13 is disposed on the internal face of a stay 17, to which the regulating blade 12 is attached, such that its detecting face 13a is arranged facing the surface of the developing roller 11. This eliminates the need for the toner to be stagnant in a detecting area as when where the T sensor 13 is disposed on the bottom of the casing 5 or the like. Accordingly, since the toner is circulated smoothly in the development device, the amount of toner supplied to the developing roller 11 is made stable. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
