PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aluminum electrolytic capacitor equipped with a lifetime detector capable of easily detecting a lifetime with a simplified structure and of safely discharging gas at the time predetermined inner pressure is reached. SOLUTION: An electrolytic capacitor is formed by impregnating a capacitor element with an electrolytic solution, and obtained by winding an aluminum anode foil and an aluminum cathode foil via a separator sheet of paper; housing the capacitor element in a metal case; and sealing the opening of the metal case with an elastic sealing structure. In the electrolytic capacitor, a cylinder with a scale containing oil film is attached to the elastic sealing structure or a metal case bottom, and the cylinder with a scale has a weak part.
