PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To collect vaporized ink solvent being produced when ink is fixed to a recording medium such that the ink solvent can be reused. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus comprises a liquid ejection head for ejecting liquid to a recording medium, a fixing means for fixing the liquid ejected by the liquid ejection head to the recording medium by vaporizing the solvent of the liquid, a solvent collection means for collecting the solvent of the liquid brought into gas state by the fixing means while liquefying, and a collected solvent storage means for storing the solvent collected by the solvent collection means.
