The pulse width modulated dimmer has switching elements for direct current such as e.g. transistors (Tr3) or insulated gate bipolar transistors with full or one-way rectification. There are two variants, both of which can be used for direct and alternating voltages. The input current flows through the circuit to the load (La4) and pulsed direct or alternating current flows through the load.
