A sub aqueous well head valve assembly having fluid flow passages each controlled by a hydraulically actuated valve has an electrically energized hydraulic power source for actuation of the valves releasably secured to the top of the assembly. The source comprises an electric motor 192 driving a pump 188 contained in a reservoir 162 having a flexible wall 186 subjected to external hydrostatic pressure, the outlet of the pump being connected to an accumulator 220 and a manifold having branches each leading to a hydraulically operated valve controlling a flow passage and including a solenoid valve 198 controlling flow. A valve, such as valve 52, controlling a flow passage is actuated by energizing the appropriate valve 198 either directly from the surface or by means of signal receiving apparatus 216. The source is connected to the assembly by a remotely actuated hydraulic connector 120 and may include a battery 210 for driving the motor.</p> |
