Measurement arrangement for measuring the path and or speed of an object moving relative to a component has a measurement wheel (20) and a rotary encoder. Wheel and encoder are mounted on two blades (34, 36) of a sprung arm (32). The sprung arm is fastened to the component using one end of one of the blades. The wheel and encoder are attached to the other blade. One of the blades (34) is essentially sprung in the Y-direction while the other is sprung in the X-direction.
