<p>A kitchen oven (1) has a front-mounted outwards-opening hatch (8). The oven chamber interior has switch (18) operated extractor fan (5,5a) outlets (9,10). The switch and hatch are coupled such that the extractor fan operates for at least a brief period before the hatch is opened, and while the hatch is open, minimizing the escape of hot air and cooking emissions. The oven interior has preferred a number of interior exhaustion outlets for hot air and vapors, including at least one in the immediate vicinity of the hatch. The switch (18) also regulates the suction power. During operation of the oven, the extractor in the immediate vicinity of the hatch rear face is in constant operation (5a).</p> |
