1368322 Basic dye compositions CIBA-GEIGY AG 9 Dec 1971 [10 Dec 1970] 57288/71 Heading D1B Non-dusty anhydrous cationic dyestuff powders are prepared by treating the dyestuff powder or a presscake with a water-soluble non-ionic polyglycol ether or with an anionactive ester thereof, or with a block copolymer prepared from polyoxypropylene and polyoxyethylene having a molecular weight of 1000 to 1600 and removing any water present. The polyglycol ether or ester may be of the formula [R-O-(CH 2 CH 2 O) n ] m <SP>-</SP>X in which R is H or alkyl or alkylphenyl, n is 4 to 20, m is 1 or 2 and X is H or -PO 3 M 2 if m is 1 or =PO 2 M if m is 2 in which M is H or an alakli metal cation, ammonium cation or an amino radical, or the ester may be a mono- or di-phosphate ester of formula in which R, M and n are as above, the block polymer may be of formula in which a and c are 1 to 60 and b ih 15 to 70. The treatment may be effected in a solvent, e.g. toluene which does not dissolve the dyestuff, or the treatment is effected in aqueous media or by mixing the dye with the reagents as defined, any water present being removed. |
