摘要 <p>1288736 Polymeric coating compositions BADISCHE ANILIN- & SODA-FABRIK AG 23 Jan 1970 [25 Jan 1969] 3365/70 Headings C3P and C3R [Also in Division C7] Electrophoretic coating compositions comprise, dissolved or dispersed in water partly in the form of ammonium or volatile amine salts, a mixture of (I) 10 to 50 weight per cent of phenolic resin and (II) 50 to 90 weight per cent of a copolymer of (A) 50 to 85 weight per cent of at least one C 1-10 alcohol ester of acrylic or methacrylic acid, (B) 5 to 20 weight per cent of at least one oil derived from at least one olefinically unsaturated fatty acid other than acrylic or methacrylic acid, (C) 5 to 15 weight per cent of at least one C 3-5α,#-olefinically unsaturated mono- or di-carboxylic acid or a hemiester or anhydride of such a dicarboxylic acid and (D) 3 to 20 weight per cent of at least one of acrylamide, methylol acrylamide, C 1-8 alcohol ethers of methylol acrylamide and the corresponding methacrylic derivatives,withor without (E) up to 20 weight per cent of at least one other copolymerizable monomer, the percentages A to E totalling 100. The phenolic resin may be a base catalysed condensate of formaldehyde with phenol, cresol, xylenol or bis- (p-hydroxyphenyl)propane. Esters A may be of an alkanol or cyclohexanol. The oil may be soya bean, linseed, isomerized linseed, tall, castor or dehydrated castor oil. C may be acrylic, methacrylic, itaconic, citraconic, mesaconic or maleic acid, or a polybasic acid partial ester. Specified monomers E are vinyl esters, styrene, vinyl toluene, p-chloro-styrene, acrylonitrile, methacrylonitrile, butadiene or isoprene. The copolymers may be prepared by solution polymerization in organic solvents in the presence of organic peroxide or azo compound initiators and optionally regulators such as dodecyl mercaptans and diisopropyl xanthogen disulphide. The compositions may also contain conventional additives and may be applied by electrophoresis to metal substrates and the resulting coatings cured by baking at 100 to 200‹ C. Examples describe the condensation of 2,2-bis-(p-hydroxyphenyl) propane with formaldehyde in the presence of dimethylethanolamine and coating compositions comprising these condensates and dimethylethanolamine salts of copolymers of acrylic acid with (1-4) isobutyl acrylate, isomerized linseed oil, methyl methacrylate and acrylamide, (5) n-butyl acrylate, methyl methacrylate, isomerized linseed oil and acrylamide, (6 and 7) n-butyl acrylate, isomerized linseed oil and acrylamide, (8 and 9) n-butyl acrylate, castor oil and acrylamide, (10) isobutyl acrylate, methyl methacrylate, tall oil and acrylamide, (11) isobutyl acrylate, methyl methacrylate, linseed oil and acrylamide, (12) isobutyl acrylate, methyl methacrylate isomerized linseed oil and butoxymethyl methacrylamide, (13) isobutyl acrylate, styrene, isomerized linseed oil and acrylamide together with (15) methyl methacrylate, and (16) isobutyl acrylate, methyl methacrylate, isomerized linseed oil and methylol methacrylamide.</p>
