<p>A battery case internal ventilation structure controls the internal temperature of a battery case 10 used for storing a plurality of batteries 11. The batteries are separated from one another and from internal surfaces of the battery case by ventilation spaces 101. The case includes a plurality of inlets 12 and a plurality of outlets 13, and the ventilation structure includes at least one fan 30. The ventilation structure has temperature sensing and control, defined by temperature controller 20 which may be a temperature resistor, arranged for sensing and controlling the case internal temperature. The fan can be disposed at either the inlet or outlet or at both inlet and outlet when several fans are used. The fan or fans can deliver or extract air to/from the battery case. The battery case can be ventilated when the battery cells are in use, or when the cells are being recharged, or when not in use but subject to a temperature exceeding the predetermined threshold. The battery case may include a filter 40 to prevent foreign matter entering.</p> |
