<p>Sodium-. lithium, magnesium-, barium- and aluminium fluoride are used in high yield as fluorinating agent in vessels not required to be resistant to hydrofluoric acid, and without the use of conc. sulphuric acid. Metal fluorides are applied in presence of hydrogen halide and alcohol or of dilute acids stronger than hydrofluoric acid, pref. hydrochloric- or sulphuric acid. Advantages include possibility of working with glass. porcelain etc. and easier disposal of wastes.</p> |
