A mobile or portable computer 100, such as a laptop or notebook computer, has a built in voice recorder 30 which may be operated while the computer is switched off. When the computer is turned on, the sound recording may be transferred to the computer via a bus 56. On the computer, the recording may be processed using a voice recognition program. The audio recorder may operate from the same battery 48 as the computer and may use the same microphone 50. The voice recorder may use its own user interface 40 which may be on the top cover or the front face of the computer. |
