<p>1363741 Artificial resin coating compositions UNILEVER Ltd 6 March 1972 [1 Jan 1971] 34/71 Headings C3B and C3R A powdered thermosetting coating composition comprises an epoxy or polyester resin, and sufficient "shellac" to give a coating having an eggshell, flat, or matt film upon curing. The term "shellac" includes shellac, garnet lac, button lac, bleached shellac, refined shellac, and/ or shellac-acrylate graft copolymer. There may be 3-15% wt. "shellac" based on the artificial resin. Conventional hardeners may be included. Also present may be pigments, e.g. TiO 2 , ZnO, lithopone, or Fe oxides; dyes, e.g. carbazole dye; fillers, e.g. mica, bentonite, dolomite, alumina; abrasives; flow control agents; or accelerators. The "shellac" may first be ground and optionally mixed with pigments, and then mixed with the remainder of the composition, followed by melting, cooling, and powdering.</p> |
