The safety assembly for a syringe (12) with a main barrel (14), a needle (16) and piston (18), has an attachment (26) on the barrel's proximal end (14P), and a safety cap (28) on its distal end, covering the needle. The attachment, made in the shape of a sector of an annular skirt, acts to hold the piston inside the barrel and is held radially by a coupling sleeve (28P) with non-reversible click-fit fastenings between it and the safety cap. The latter is attached to the other end of the coupling sleeve by frangible bridges (32).
