PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piezoelectric vibrator including a sealed structure where there is no problem such as an occurrence of leakage. SOLUTION: The piezoelectric vibrator includes: a container which has an opening whose cross-sectional shape is recessed, for housing a vibrating piece therein and which forms on inner walls a projection for positioning, in its breadthwise direction, one end of the vibrating piece in the lengthwise direction; a mount for fixing only one end of the vibrating piece in the lengthwise direction inside the recess of the container; and a lid with a seal for sealing the container formed circumferentially, and the piezoelectric vibrator is constituted by using the full circumference of an opening side upper surface of the container as a sealing portion and by correspondingly fusing and bonding a metal layer formed in the sealing portion and the seal formed on the lid. In such a piezoelectric vibrator, no metal layer is formed on an upper surface of the projection which is a part of the sealing portion. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
