NICKEL ELECTRODE FOR ALKALINE STORAGE BATTERY AND STORAGE BATTERY USING SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nickel electrode for an alkaline storage battery capable of heightening an activator holding function on a base plate without increasing a content of a binder and preventing oxidation deterioration of the binder, and to provide a storage battery using the same. SOLUTION: On the nickel electrode for the alkaline storage battery composed of a conductive base plate and a mixture layer containing the activator held on the base plate, the mixture layer contains powder of the activator made of nickel hydroxide as a main component and a binder, and the binder is made of ethylene-based ionomer composed of a copolymer of ethylene and unsaturated carboxylic acid.
