The invention relates to a vehicle headlight (1) comprising a housing (2a, 2b) and a semiconductor light source (3) that is located in the interior of the housing (2a, 2b). The infra-red radiation that is emitted by the light source and/or the emitted visible light is transferred to the environment of the vehicle headlight (1) by an optical element (2b). A heat pipe is located in the interior of the vehicle headlight (1), on whose surface the semiconductor light source (3) is fixed, thus being thermally connected to said pipe. The detrimental heat that is generated by the semiconductor light source is guided away from the heat pipe by the latter (4), preventing the semiconductor light source from overheating and thus protecting it from damage by overheating. This configuration permits the production of an extremely robust, resistant vehicle headlight (1). |
