A wall hanging type indoor unit for an air conditioner has a body casing (1) having on its front side a first suction grill (2) and having on its lower part a blowout grill (4), finned-tube heat exchangers (5a, 5b) arranged in the shape of a broken line, as seen from a side, in the body casing (1), sirocco fans (11) arranged below the finned-tube heat exchangers (5a, 5b) such that a rotating shaft (13) of the fans is in parallel to the front side of the body casing (1).
