<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize an image forming apparatus for forming an adjustment image by which the occurrence of a sheet conveyance jam in a fixing means is suppressed and the use amount of a developer is reduced, and to provide a method for adjusting the image forming apparatus using the adjustment image. <P>SOLUTION: The adjustment image is composed of partial images formed on each side of a rectangular sheet by at least one based on predetermined image data, the partial images have areas protruded from the sheet, the partial images include an adjustment image formation process for forming an adjustment image which is not formed at a corner part at the tip in the sheet conveyance direction, thus, the images formed on the sheet are read by a reading means, a compensation value for compensating formation conditions of the images to the sheet is calculated from the read data and the image forming apparatus is adjusted by the compensation value. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
