<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surrounding object detecting device and method for moving body which is capable of improving the detection accuracy. <P>SOLUTION: The device has a plurality of detecting means X(i), X(i+1) etc, and each detecting means has a sensor part 13 for detecting object existing in the surrounding of own-car, a position-calculating means 14 for obtaining relative position data between the object detected with the sensor part 13 and own-car, and a certainty operating means 15 for calculating certainty data of relative position data between own-car and the object on the basis of the detected data by the sensor part 13. An integrated coordinate calculating means 11 is provided for weighting processing relative position data calculated with the detecting means, based on the certainty data calculated with each detecting means, and calculating the relative position between the self-car and the object based on the relative position data processed with weight. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
