<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inkjet recording medium which has excellent ink absorbency even if printing is done by a printer ejecting a large quantity of ink. <P>SOLUTION: In this inkjet recording medium where at least one ink absorbing layer mainly composed of a pigment and a binding agent is provided on at least one side of a substrate, the pigment is precipitated calcium carbonate-silica composite particles where a surface of a precipitated calcium carbonate is covered with silica, and the precipitated calcium carbonate-silica composite particles contain a precipitated calcium carbonate-silica composite particle with an oil absorption of 120-250 ml/100 g, a BET specific surface area of 5-150 m<SP>2</SP>/g, and a mean particle diameter of 1.0-10 μm. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
