<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an open/close device which allows an original pressing plate to be completely and surely grounded and to be easily lifted with a weak operating force. <P>SOLUTION: The open/close device comprises an attaching member fixed to a device main body, a turning member which is freely turnably pivoted to the attaching member through a hinge shaft and supports the original pressing plate, an elastic body like a compression coil spring which is provided between the attaching member and the turning member and energizes the turning member in an opening direction, a pendulum cam turnably pivoted to the hinge shaft, and a cam follower which is elastically brought into contact with a cam surface of the pendulum cam by an energizing force of the elastic body, and opening/closing torque of the open/close device is controlled by a shape of the cam surface. The open/close device is provided with a means which causes the pendulum cam to follow up the turning member to turn the pendulum cam only while the turning member is turned at a prescribed angle in the opening direction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
